LGV and PCV Driver Training

Thinking of LGV or PCV driving? Professional drivers are still very much in demand today despite the recession, and today the job can be a very rewarding career. LGV and PCV driving is fast becoming a fairly specialised job and there are a number of very different options within the field.
As well as obtaining your driving license to become a professional driver, you will need to complete a number of additional courses dependent upon the type of driving and vehicles that you will be driving.

Driver CPC Training

Changes in professional driving rules and requirements have meant that drivers of commercial LGV and PCV vehicles need additional and ongoing training enabling them to perform at the highest standard and maintain a full awareness of the ongoing legal requirements of their roles. To achieve this the government now require all professional drivers obtain the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC). If you're new to professional driving and want to drive a lorry, bus or coach. You'll get a driver qualification card when you qualify. You must keep this with you at all times when you're driving professionally. Qualified professional drivers must also do at least 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years, by taking approved courses with government approved training centers in order to maintain their Driver Certificate of Professional Competence.
