Drivers Certificate of Professional Competence
LGV Drivers
From the 10th September 2009 and before the 9th September 2014 all commercial, professional LGV drivers who drive vehicles weighing 3.5 tonnes or more will also need to hold a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) in addition to a vocational driving licence. To gain the Driver CPC they must complete 35 hours of training. When the course is successfully completed, they will be issued with a Driver Qualification Card (DQC), which looks similar to a photo driving licence. Once you obtain the Driver CPC, you must complete 35 hours of periodic training within the next five years to ensure that it stays valid. Drivers Certificate of Professional Competence
The Drivers Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) is for LGV and PCV drivers who drive professionally throughout the UK. There are two parts to the legislation:
The Initial Qualification that must be achieved by new LGV and PCV drivers along with their vocational licence to enable them to use their licence professionally.
